The Sagging Crisis
“If you ask six of these kids, ‘What are your grades?’ four will tell you they’re making C’s, D’s and F’s. I see how senior citizens respond to these kids. They’re afraid.”-Timothy Holmes
This quote was taken from USA Today. One might think the article was about gangs, drugs, or maybe even street violence.
I wish.
The article was about “Several U.S. cities snapping over baggy pants”.
The dignitaries and heads of organizations that talk to newspapers and magazines blow my mind time after time. These educated people are suggesting that there be a penalty for baggy pants. The penalties could include jail time, warnings or fines according to Laura Parker. This is ridiculous. You definately cannot tell a person how to wear their clothes especially if it’s not revealing anything. The first amendment rights pop up and everything but do we need to go that far to understand that this is bad? By no means am I saying that people should sag their pants but if I can’t sag my pants when I want then bow ties and suspenders are going out with them. Suck on that presidential candidates and senators. Crack down on those ugly ties you wear that are so distracting and distasteful. Somebody get Craig Sager on the phone.
But seriously, the comment about C, D, and F students made me mad. Argue with some hard core evidence; not generalizations that don’t make sense. There is no direct correlation to saggy pants and bad people. The clothes don’t make the man (or woman). If that were the case, I would go with no underwear: So I can be free.
My new blog.
